Once Upon a Time in Harlem

In 1972 William Greaves filmed a gathering of surviving Harlem Renaissance figures — Aaron Douglas, Richard Bruce Nugent, Ernest Crichlow, Eubie Blake — at Duke Ellington’s Harlem townhouse, then left the footage unfinished for half a century. His son David Greaves completed it. Premiered at Sundanc
